The idea behind this sketch is to replace the tent with something a bit more scenic and interactive. The logs and stumps are hang out spots and fun place for photo opportunities.
As I was making this sketch I thought about all of the great images that I'd found about logging. The minature water wheel is a little out of character with the grandness of the space and in fact the theme. Something bigger and bolder, Something stronger and more interactive, Something as historically relevant yet more accessible. Who doesn't think that vintage trains are cool? Old trucks? I'll bet we can find a spot in this great space to deck out in bits of that. Giant Moose pulling log sleds? Cool. Giant tee trunks rising on either side of the interiors main entrance with lumber jacks harnessed high up cutting away. Huge slabs cut from enormous logs, vintage tools, vintage signs and murals. Boy, could this space benefit from some beautiful murals. There are a lot of huge naked walls in this place that screaming out for something colorful and interesting and relevant. I found a lot of material on that too. What I'd most like to know is: How over the top can we go? Paul Bunion big? If you told folks that the family wing was a right past Paul or Babe the Big Blue Ox, they'd find it with little difficulty.

Now that I'm sketching rapidly again I'll invite you to toss an idea or doodle at me. Make it as random as possible and I'll shoot you something back in an hour or two. I think that may be the best way to assess my design and sketching ability.
